The Friends had a wonderful end to 2017 with a very profitable December hosting concessions at the Moncks Corner Movies on Main events, Pictures with Santa at the Libraries, and helping with Celebrate the Season Festival in Moncks Corner.
Now, it is the start of a new year and spring is right around the corner. With warmer weather comes more events including book sales, outdoor movies, and more. There are several fun ways you can help. Your talent or expertise can really be of value to your Library System.
We now have new committees which offer a more hands-on commitment to help the Friends of the Library. If you would like to get more involved, please check our website under volunteer opportunities to see a list of upcoming events and more information about the new committees.
If you are not a member or you need to renew your membership. Please consider becoming a member of the Friends or encouraging others to join. There are membership envelopes available at the all BCLS library branches; you can also join through PayPal online on our website.

*Note, you can be a Friends and not attend a meeting but our monthly board meetings are open to all of our members and the public to attend. We meet every 4th Tuesday night of the month at various BCLS library branches.

MOVIES UNDER THE STARS
Free outdoor movies are shown on the large screen at the new Regional Recreation Complex on Main Street in Moncks Corner. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and family and friends. Gate opens at 6 pm. Movies begin at dusk. Food trucks will be present for concessions. (no outside food or drink please)
The Friends of the Library will be selling freshly popped popcorn, drinks, and candy. If you would like to volunteer for this event, please let us know by clicking the volunteer button below. Even if you can only give an hour of your time, all volunteers are welcome.
Pictures with the Easter Bunny
The Friends will be hosting pictures with the Easter Bunny at all of the BCLS LIbrary Branches Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday during the weeks of March 19th – March 29th. We will be selling photos for $5/page. This is a great fundraiser for us but we are still looking for volunteers.

Spring Book Sale @Moncks Corner Library
Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children, Young Adult, and Adult Books. Plus, DVDs, CDs, and Audio Books! Join the Friends of the Library for a Spring Book Sale Blow Out at the Moncks Corner Library on Saturday, April 7th.
9 am – 10 am – Members Only
10 am – 2 pm – Open to Public
Not a member but want this special sneak peak? You can join the Friends for as low as $10/yr by signing up online or at the door of the sale. The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley County Library and all proceeds benefit the library system.
