Sip and Paint Returns to Moncks Corner Library
[1/19/17] Moncks Corner, SC – Couples can enjoy a free after hours date night at the library with childcare provided.
Libraries are usually known for books, movies, and maybe the occasional story time. The Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) is going one step further with the return of “Sip and Paint.” This program is a date night for couples 17 years old or older consisting of a movie, a guided painting session, and snacks and drinks. All this is on the house and even comes with free childcare. Come relax at the Moncks Corner Library on February 10th at 7 pm.
The first Sip and Paint program occurred last September with 37 participants attending the event. One couple commented that it was their first date since they had gotten married two years before. Florence Lewis-Coker, the Branch Coordinator for District 1 at Moncks Corner Library, said this of the program. “Sip and Paint… is a relaxing, fun, and memorable experience. It allows you to experience art in a different form by exploring the artistic creativity via the acrylic painting medium.” She adds that it also allows you “to meet with other people in the community.”
A date night with art and a movie may seem insignificant – but Sip and Paint illustrates that each BCLS branch is a community place. Customers can watch anime with friends at Sangaree, learn programming at Daniel Island, discuss mystery books at Hanahan, and now enjoy after hours date nights at Moncks Corner.
