Speaker: Susan Callahan, Executive Director of the Lowcountry Foundation (LAF) Inc. & Director of Family Support Services for the Center of Neurodevelopmental Medicine at MUSC Children’s Hospital

Susan Callahan is the executive director of the Lowcountry Autism Foundation (LAF) Inc., based in Charleston at MUSC. She also serves as director of Family Support Services for the Center for Neurodevelopmental Medicine at MUSC Children’s Hospital. Callahan is guiding the organization through the expansion of direct neurodevelopmental disorder services as LAF also provides free direct autism support services to children across coastal South Carolina not diagnosed or followed by MUSC.
Prior to joining the Lowcountry Autism Foundation, Callahan was a consultant with the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs-Autism Division where she was the lead evaluator and provided consultation and training services to families and educators.
Speaker: Tracie Hayward, Charleston Area Coordinator for Family Connection

Tracie Hayward is the Charleston Area Coordinator for Family Connection, a statewide organization that links families of children with special needs with resources, support, and education that are available in the state.
Tracie has been working at Family Connection for just over a year. She is in charge of parent matching, family events, support groups and workshops for all of coastal South Carolina. Tracie has three children, ages 8, 6, and 2. Her eight-year-old son was diagnosed with autism at age 3, and she has been involved with Family Connection as a Support Parent since his diagnosis.
Tracie serves on the parent advisory board for the Berkeley County School District Office for Exceptional Children and on many other councils and committees.
