Welcome to Berkeley County Library System’s Winter Reading Program!

This year’s program is all new, interactive, and online. Winter Reading is for all ages and we want to make it easy for the whole family to participate. It is so simple: if Mom reads a book, Dad reads an e-book, baby listens to a book, and Grandma reads a magazine…they all count!

Follow the instructions below to set up a Family Account to help maintain each family members’ account!

1. Click on button above to the online registration.

2. Once at our registration page, please click on “register” to begin making a new user account.

3. Please follow the prompts as they guide you through the registration process. Please make sure you note the total age of your group (Grandma’s age + Mom’s age + Child’s age = Total age) and that you note how many family members will participate.

4. You will be asked to make a unique user name and password. Please write these in a place easily remembered, so that you may access your account throughout the winter to log how many pages your family has read.

Once set up, you are ready to read! Visit your account often to submit your titles so that your family is eligible for our end of Winter Reading Grand Prize! All submissions must be entered online by Feb. 6th.

Schools and Day Care Centers may participate as a family and will be placed in a separate drawing for a special group prize.

The SC Winter Reading Program is supported by The South Carolina State Library. The State Library has long supported summer reading programs as a way to promote the joy of reading for fun, connect communities, and to encourage lifelong library users. Now the SC State Library is proud to support the Winter Reading Program to encourage patrons of all ages to be library users and avid readers. Children’s author and illustrator, Will Hillenbrand, created the art for the SC Winter Reading Program:  Cozy Up to a Good Book: Together We Read!
