Anime Club

Berkeley County Library is proud to offer the Anime Club at Sangaree Library. The club is open to all anime and manga fans ages 12-17 or those in grades 6th-12th. The club meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 5:30 to 7 pm.

What to expect:

At seven of the nine meetings during the year, you’ll see episodes from a variety of anime shows, OVAs (Original Video Animation), and movies.

Manga Café/Craft Night occurs in December. Enjoy various manga series available to read and for checkout, make Japanese-themed crafts, or challenge your friends to a Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon card game.

At Game Night in March, video game consoles and board games are provided for free play as well as card games (such as Apples to Apples, UNO, and Old Maid) and the Japanese strategy game, Go.

Prizes are awarded to teens throughout the year for winning a variety of trivia games, as door prizes, or for coming in costume for the October meeting. The prizes range from buttons and candy to Japanese snacks, posters, and collectible card game packs.

We don’t meet from June-August due to the summer reading program. Join us at WhateverCon to jump start the new school year and return of Anime Club in August.

Teens are encouraged to participate, suggest favorite titles, and bring friends to each meeting! For more information please contact the Young Adult Librarian at
